You should have received information on accessing your UWorld account.  Please check your “Other” and “Spam” folders if you have not. Already purchased it? There might be an out – email assessment@noordacom.org to see if your membership can be cancelled to use Noorda-COM’s access.

The Neuro Midterm will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. in the testing center of Building 4 (first floor). Please arrive early to ensure you are seated before 9.

RESEARCH

Get paid for enhancing patient care. The Summit Patient Care Innovation Contest is accepting poster submissions until August 31. Submit your idea (on elevating patient experiences) for a chance to win up to $10,000! Contact Dr. Bills immediately to register or ask questions.

Find a faculty mentor. While this event is mainly for first years, you’re welcome to attend faculty members’ presentations on their current (and proposed) research areas on August 26. Questions? Contact Dr. Bills or Dr. Kriak

CLINICAL AFFAIRS

We’ve got LCM updates. If you have any issues, reach out to your Clinical Coordinator first! Also, please turn on notifications for the site you’re assigned to, and share your experiences (good or bad) with your coordinator. To find your coordinator, go into your Teams group page and look under “Files and Information Sheet.”

Clinical Affair’s office hours are every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1–2 p.m. in the main room of Building 1.

Finish your Exxat profile. Please fill out all of your profile (Specialty Interests, Personal Statement, Emergency Contact, etc.), keep personal information updated, and watch for emails/deadlines from Exxat. (The deadline for auto and health insurance is September 1.)

Participate and get highlighted. Maria de Los Santos has just earned a prize for her contributions to the Ortho Teams channels. Unhide the MAP and TRIP channels in your Teams account and participate in chats to get highlighted and win some swag!

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS: LEARNING SERVICES

Refresh your exam skills. Check out this video of Dr. Dougherty breaking down a typical exam question (and answer) process.
Attend a tutoring session. There will be a neuroscience review with the tutors through Teams today from 12–1 p.m. (Reach out to Learning Services if you’d like to schedule a one-on-one tutoring session with a tutor or faculty member.)

Recommend a friend. We’re hiring an Admissions Counselor, Learning Specialist, and other roles – send them our way if you think they’d be a good fit for Noorda-COM!

Reignite that New Year’s fitness resolution. Remember early January, when you (probably) decided to be healthier? Noorda-COM can help you meet that goal! We have an on-campus gym. To request access to the gym (in Building 2), bring your student badge to and complete a request form with Cary Beasley at the Building 4 front desk. Processing may take several weeks.

FACILITIES

Pod supplies must stay put. Please don’t take anything from the pods (especially the wet erase pens). All pods should have a box of Kleenex, disinfectant wipes, a spray bottle, an eraser or erase cloth, and wet erase pens (in black, red, green, and blue).
